What changes/practises have you implamentated following Covid-19?
We have implamented and have continued many practises to help keep your peace of mind when attending any of our sessions or events. These are here to stay forever.
Why are you an Unregistered NDIS Provider?
We are a small business and the registration process takes a long time, money and alot of work. Being a small business we don't have the time to do this as we rather be spending this time helping you now.
What is the difference between NDIS Registered and Unregistered?
Very simily put, NDIS participants can only access NDIS registered providers is you are NDIA managed. However if you are Self-Managed or Plan-Managed you can acces either a Registered or Unregistered Provider of your choice. This means you have more resources available to you.
Do you follow the NDIS Code of Conduct, as an Unregistered NDIS Provider?
We naturally do. We always had a view that a disability of a child shouldn't ever take them away from being able to do fun things. We adapt our work to aid inclusivity.
Are you insured and have all appropriete checks?
We have Public liability insurance and all our employees have a working with children check (WWCC). We are also in the process of receiving our NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC).
What can I use my NDIS funding on?
If you are a Self-Managed or Plan-Managed participant you still have limits on how you can use your funds.
Why use Nicky Nacky Noo insteads of an actual Therapist?
We do not say to use us instead of a trained therapist such as an OT or Speechy. We simply think that Nicky Nacky Noo provide a very different approach that compliments your therapist's goal orientated plans.
We are easy going, non forceful & adaptable to your child’s needs and requirements. We do not force your child to do anything they do not want to do. We believe in the approach that repetition will help your child improved their skills. Children are natural explorers and learn in all different types of environment. Therefor our approach is child lead in many ways. We provide them with the tools they need to naturally use the skills they are working on.
For example:
Mr A might not be able to dress himself due to lack of fine motor and gross motor skills ability. Well during our play we might not be doing dressing up, however during our session we will be using obstacles to jump over or go over, and then we might be using our fingers to put small items into small holes. These two activities doesn’t seem to be similar but they are, we are strengthening our gross & fine motor skills (in a fun way).
Miss B might find it difficult to eat many different types of foods? During our session we use edible items as usually kids naturally put things in their mouths to work out what the item is. This means having fruits and vegetables of different naturals helps them learning that food can be fun. You never know they might end up finding foods they really love, and will ask for after the session.
